My experiences in the beautiful country of Thailand

Praying

Praying

Photo of my sister and I praying behind some beautiful temple in Bangkok!

TUK TUK TIME!

TUK TUK TIME!

Snapped a photo of my two cousins and sister taking a stroll in a tuk tuk around the city of Bangkok!

REAL pad thai!

REAL pad thai!

The first night of entering Bangkok from Ho Chi Minh City, my relatives and I said , "I WANT REAL PAD THAI!" Therefore, we chose a restaurant of near distance from our hotel and stumbled upon one not too far away. How much you ask? Only 45 Thai Baht (1.30$ USD) !!!

Pigeon feeding.

Pigeon feeding.

Some random dude was selling bags of hard crumbled bread and insisted I purchase one to feed the pigeons, so why not?! At least I gave him some business that day!

I was a little nervous...

I was a little nervous...

Tour guide: "Go over there and I take photo." Me: "What if if wraps its trunk around my neck, strangle me, and I die?" Tour guide: "Uhhh...." Me: "Yeah... das what I thought."

Train riding through the forest!

Train riding through the forest!

Riding through the Kanchanaburi forest and my cousin says, "Tom, look over here!"

Home..

Home..

So the place we stayed at off the Kanchanaburi River was off a floated platform... And I'm sure when swimming in the river, we were swimming in our own filth...

Golden Arches!

Golden Arches!

Take a gander at the intricate design of these poles I sat next to. Think of the long, laborious hours it took to paint every single design... now that's time management...

Cruisin'!

Cruisin'!

Decided to take a cruise on a boat throughout the canals of Thailand! Such a fun excursion through the city!

Street food Part: 1

Street food Part: 1

Something that I'll always love about Thailand is their street food at every corner! Not even joking; everywhere you turn, you'd be sure to get something for cheap! This rice plate with beef and stir fried veggies was only 25 BAHT! That's around 0.75 US cents!!! And it was delicious too!

Inside Wat Benchamabophit

Inside Wat Benchamabophit

Take a close look at the intricate designs inside the temple... It really is mind blowing. I've always diverted myself into culture and artwork and let me tell you, Thailand on top of Paris (recently) are the top two placed I recommend.

Wat Benchamabophit

Wat Benchamabophit

Something that is so great about visiting Thailand is the beautiful artwork and architecture. I was on a destination to find some of the most beautifulest temples and one day randomly roaming the streets, I found this one! So freakin' crazy beautiful!!!

BAD pad thai!

BAD pad thai!

One of the most famous and touristy streets in Bangkok is Khao San Road. You'll see very very very tall Australians, Europeans, or Russians along this street. I wasn't too fond of the pad thai open market here; it was rather gross actually. I'm sure it's because they just want money fast and know tourists will easily buy it... but I STILL BOUGHT SOME cause I'm a fat ass!

Floating boat market!

Floating boat market!

My relatives and I decided to take a boat ride through the canals of Bangkok. In side chatter we said, "let's go to the open market after this." Our tour guide, "why not just let me bring the boat the the floating open market?" No idea this even existed. There were literally hundreds of boats with old Thai lady selling nonsense!

BANANA

BANANA

Me: "Do you mind?! Can I not eat my banana in peace and harmony?" Elephant: "You better give me that banana otherwise you'll get your ass whooped." Me: "Fine..."

MONK

MONK

When at the Tiger Temple, they were very strict with where I can put my hands on the tiger which made me really scared if I were to do something wrong or hesitated to move. The tigers also are best friends with the Monks and only listen to their directions. The strong ties between animal and human.

Street food Part: 2

Street food Part: 2

My sister: "Tom, stop freaking eat street food. We're about to go to a restaurant and eat, wtf" Me: "Shut the hell up! I'm hungry as F_ _ _ and can eat whatever the hell I want! I'm always HANGRY."

Thai Buddha!

Thai Buddha!

Thought this buddha was very beautiful. I have a big fascination with buddha sculptures and even have a small collection at home. Wish I took this one home though. If you're not Asian or don't study the culture, be aware that there's different types of Buddha for each country...

Bangkok City Center at night!

Bangkok City Center at night!

Like in many Asian countries, they are very well known for their fun and festive night markets! This was on the outskirts of Bangkoks City Center and into their China town where my relatives and I explored the streets for yummy food!

Kanchanaburi River time!

Kanchanaburi River time!

My cousin and I jumping into the river and trying to take a cool picture while jumping! We probably took about 10-15 tries to get the right shot!

Chillin' like a villain

Chillin' like a villain

The weather was extremely humid in Thailand so why not relax in the river. I then thought to myself... "wait a minute, our hostel is right there and the bathroom is LITERALLY right there... where the heck is the sewage system leading to..."

Kanchanaburi's Tiger Temple

Kanchanaburi's Tiger Temple

Like any tourists, who wouldn't want a cool photo with a tiger? Although I was very pleased with this specific shot, it wasn't until later that I learned what they do to these living animals just to publicize and promote their company for money. Don't plan to go into detail, but it's sad.

My tour guide!

My tour guide!

Man, I wish I remembered what his name was! Since I was too big to sit in the back with my relatives, I sat shot gun and talked to my tour guide the whole time. One of the nicest dudes I've met and he taught me so much about the Thai culture in so little time! And he gave me a gift...

Hand made sling shot from some kid!

Hand made sling shot from some kid!

I told my tour guide: "I really want something made from Thailand that's cool" and right then and there he asked if I wanted this sling shot that his nephew made for him the day before. I said "YES, this is so freakin' cool wtf!!!" Kapunkrap (this means thank you in Thai)

Views of where we stayed!

Views of where we stayed!

It was actually really cool where we stayed because they were floating homes along the river! I'm sure you can of how do you use the restroom while the home is floating and moving, lol!!!

Elephant riding!

Elephant riding!

Really wanted my SOLO elephant riding picture but the guy HAD TO BE THERE...

Wait... snap a pic!

Wait... snap a pic!

Since my cousin refused to go in the water because she didn't want to ruin the dress her dad just made her, she was our photographer! Haha, what a moron girl.

Hahaha this was a funny moment!

Hahaha this was a funny moment!

Like any large city center, Bangkok is widely known for their amazing metro system (that they copied from the Japanese) and here at one of the stations, they were hosting a concert inside! Thought to myself, "why not take a picture with one of the contestants!"

Street food Part: 3

Street food Part: 3

Yes pad thai is greatly known in Thailand, but have you ever tried PAPAYA salad? So freakin' good if you're looking for a spicy cold salad with rich dressing! And hey, why not add a grilled drumstick while you're at it! Only 25 THAI BAHT.

BABY elephant!

BABY elephant!

I literally approached this little guy after getting off of my ride and he LEGIT walked up to me and just opened his mouth expecting me to feed him a peanut.. nut even lying.

Hmm?

Hmm?

Not specifically sure what this Thai dish was but it was honestly really good. When traveling, don't be afraid to try new things. I can't enunciate how much I hate when people say, "Ew what is that" when clearly just judging just by looking at it. It's crazy how many times I've heard this and how much it irritates me not to mention put offense toward anyone around them.

Bangkok Central!

Bangkok Central!

Walked across a bridge to another shopping plaza and told my sister to take a photo of me! What's great about Thailand is shopping! Clothes here is so cheap. I believe I bought 2 pairs of khaki shorts and 12 shirts, lol!

Elephante!

Elephante!

Really just liked this photo so why not post? Haha
